Description
Medical Director & Lead Surgeon - Plastic & Reconstructive Hand Surgery
Location: Northwestern, Arkansas USA
Employment Type: Full-Time / Lead Clinical Role
The Position: We are seeking a high-caliber, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand to serve as the Lead Surgeon and Clinical Leader of a premier, 30-year established practice in Western Arkansas.
This role is designed for a surgeon who wants the clinical autonomy and prestige of a private practice without the administrative burdens of business ownership. Through our Managed Services Organization (MSO), we provide a full-scale administrative suite—including staffing, billing, marketing, and facility management—allowing you to focus exclusively on patient care and surgical excellence. Preference given to candidates with immediate or near-term availability*.
Clinical Environment: The practice is a powerhouse in the region, boasting a 30-year legacy and a massive referral network.
Case Mix: Dominantly Hand & Reconstructive Surgery (80%) with 2mo. backlog of patients in surgical queue, and with an additional steady stream of Cosmetic procedures (20%).
Infrastructure: You will operate in a JCAHO-Accredited, Gold Seal office-based surgical facility.
Volume: Step into a fully mature patient funnel: 55–65 clinic patients/day and 40–55 OR cases/week.
The Team: Supported by a highly experienced clinical team, including a Surgical Scrub Tech (12 years tenure) and a Registered Nurse, all managed by our MSO.
The Heritage & Transition: Step into a Legacy of Clinical Excellence: This is not a "startup" opportunity. You will be assuming leadership of a practice with a 30-year gold-standard reputation. The outgoing founder is a highly regarded pillar of the industry, known for technical precision and deep-rooted community trust.
A Seamless, Guided Transition: The owner is committed to your long-term success and will provide a superior transfer of clinical and operational knowledge, including warm introductions to the extensive referral network of independent practitioners and hospital systems.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership: Serve as the primary surgeon for the PC, performing a wide range of procedures including hand trauma, joint replacement, replants, breast enhancements, and facial rejuvenation.
Surgical Excellence: Maintain the JCAHO standards of the on-site surgical center.
Patient Consultation: Lead the non-surgical aesthetic wing, overseeing Botox, fillers, and chemical peels.
Collaboration: Work alongside the MSO to identify opportunities for practice expansion.
Qualifications: Board Certification: Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).
Specialty Certification: Must hold a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand.
Experience: 5+ years of post-residency experience is preferred, but exceptional early-career candidates with strong hand-surgery portfolios and CAQ eligibility will be considered.
Licensure: Active (or eligible for) Arkansas Medical License.
Compensation & Benefits: We offer a highly competitive compensation structure designed to reward clinical productivity:
High Base Salary + Production Bonus: Structured to exceed regional benchmarks.
Zero Administrative Burden: The MSO handles all "back-office" functions.
Full Benefits Suite: Including malpractice insurance assistance, health/dental, CME allowance, and relocation assistance.
Quality of Life: 5-day work week in a region ranked as a "Top 10 Places to Live" by U.S. News & World Report.
*Availability: Special consideration will be given to candidates with immediate or near-term availability (notice periods of ~60 days or less).
The Opportunity Timeline: This search is part of a planned leadership succession. We are actively interviewing and ready to move toward a definitive agreement with the right candidate. Surgeons capable of an expedited transition from their current obligations will find a highly motivated and streamlined onboarding process.
