Job Summary
The Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for a faculty physician with an interest in breast reconstruction. This position is clinically focused, with the primary responsibility of delivering comprehensive breast reconstructive surgical care within a large, multispecialty academic health system.
The primary responsibility of this position will be providing patient care at UT Southwestern Frisco and collaborating closely with the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, the first and only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in North Texas. Additional responsibilities include participation in didactic sessions, seminars and rounds with plastic surgery residents and medical students, as well as opportunities to develop clinical research expertise exist.
Position Highlights
- Provide breast reconstructive surgical care within a multidisciplinary oncology environment
- Collaborate closely with the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center and oncology teams
- Contribute to departmental academic activities including seminars, rounds, and scholarly initiatives
- Opportunities to develop clinical research expertise within an academic plastic surgery program
- Faculty appointment at UT Southwestern Medical Center with rank commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Plastic Surgery
- Fellowship training in oncologic reconstruction and microsurgery required
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to advancing the field of plastic surgery through patient care, education, and scholarship
