The Department of Plastic Surgery is hiring a Laboratory Research Technician I to join its Research Laboratory. Through a positive group dynamic, the Laboratory brings together a talented group of researchers from a wide range of different cultural and organizational backgrounds and allows for a safe environment to share unique perspectives on scientific topics researched in the Lab. The Plastic Surgery Research Laboratory is a collaborative research team and each member develops and applies skills to enable contribution to team efforts and the overall vision. The Laboratory Research Technician role plays a vital part in the overall success of the Lab and we are looking for an individual who is organized, detail oriented and can contribute to the Plastic Surgery Research team.
Job Summary
Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.
Essential Functions
Essential Duties include:
- Performs laboratory testing and some analysis, including organizes, prepares and tests multiple types of specimen samples.
- Operates and maintains applicable laboratory equipment.
- Keeps detailed, acuate and timely data. Organizes and documents results.
- Sterilizes, maintains, and cleans lab equipment; prepares work areas; and maintains cleanliness through the laboratory.
- Maintains inventories and assists with ordering proper supplies.
- Assists in preparation of travel and business expense reports for lab members.

Hiring Range: $16.50 to $24.75 per hour
